COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Colorado ingredients create this soup mix. After four years in business, Blue Moon Goodness is at 45 super food stores across Colorado. Below is the transcript of the video segment that featured recently on Fox 21 News:
“A few weeks ago we delivered our first palette of soup, when they picked it up with a fork lift. And that’s really exciting,” said Kelly Strong founder of Blue Moon Goodness.
The vegan, gluten-free and all natural food company started four years ago with Strong’s mother’s recipes in her own kitchen and used some of their own ingredients.
“We had our own bees, and we hived our first bees on a blue moon. And that’s why we called it Blue Moon Goodness,” Strong said.
But when business grew, their resources had to grow with them. They moved into a co-op kitchen where other local businesses also work.
“I couldn’t afford the big ovens, I couldn’t afford an 80 gallon kettle for sure, it wouldn’t fit in my kitchen,” Strong said.
From the granola to the soups, Strong says every ingredient used is local. It’s her way of supporting other local businesses who support her.
“It means a lot and the public drives it, and that’s really nice too,”Strong said.
